This month I want to talk about the Content Creators Funnel. Or how to get people to buy your things without asking them to buy your things.
In 2021 I spent a ridiculous amount of time launching products. I think there were 12 in total. And while I had a lot of fun and learned a lot of things, I knew I wanted to find a more sustainable way to build my creator business.
So I set out in 2022 to do substantially fewer launches and instead work on a funnel that grows my audience, brings in income and optimises for what I love to do most - which is create & share content.
At a basic level, it looks like this…
There are probably a lot of different and complex ways to build funnels for products and the like. But I like this funnel for a couple of reasons:
Now that I have the funnel dialled in I know if I focus on the top, the rest will mostly take care of itself.
I don’t have to do a lot of ‘promotion’ or advertising of my products on social media and still very little through my newsletter. This suits me because I hate selling.
It’s simple. There is no complicated email sequences or flows. It depends on me creating content at the top end and sending a weekly email at the bottom. That’s it.
